What is PLA material?
PLA is an eco-friendly and biodegradable material, commonly used in 3D printed works or craft projects.

Can alcohol markers be used on PLA?
In fact, alcohol-based markers generally do not damage PLA or cause any chemical reaction, so they are safe for normal coloring.
Only if PLA is exposed to highly concentrated alcoholโ€”such as pure rubbing alcohol left on the surface for several hoursโ€”might the surface soften slightly. For typical use with markers, this is not an issue and will not affect your coloring results.

First, print the model, then prime the model, base coat with the alcohol paint, apply a matte varnish (so there is a barrier between the alcohol and acrylic), then detail/highlight with acrylic, and finally seal the whole model with whatever plastic finish they choose. It should hold up for a long time, and depending on skill level, it should look great.
